The Bible in Closed Nations: Why Scripture Access Is Urgent

For many believers across the Arabic-speaking world, owning a Bible is not simply difficult - it can be dangerous.

In several nations, printed Scripture is restricted, Christian bookstores do not exist and online access may be monitored. Even searching for the Gospel can raise suspicion.

And yet, the hunger for God’s Word has not diminished - it has grown. Where the Church is pressured, the Scriptures remain its lifeline.

“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

In restricted areas, believers rely on:

This is the new underground church - one rooted in the Word, meeting in the digital wilderness and guided by the Holy Spirit.

Behind every screen is an individual or even a group quietly reading the Scriptures and seeking truth - often at great personal risk.

AMM also makes online Bible study courses available, helping seekers and new believers understand Scripture, ask questions safely and grow in their faith even where in-person discipleship is not possible.

Our work doesn’t stop when our programmes end. That’s when the real discipleship begins.
